Apply to the Dickerson-Green
M.Div./M.A. Program

The Dickerson-Green Theological Seminary’s mission is to provide a high-quality graduate theological education. Our Master of Divinity (MDiv) and the Master of Arts in Religion (MA) are both advanced degrees in the field of theological and religious studies, yet they cater to distinct academic and vocational objectives. The M.Div. is a comprehensive program designed primarily for individuals aspiring to pastoral ministry or other forms of religious leadership. It provides a holistic education, encompassing biblical studies, pastoral care, liturgical training, and theological reflection.  The MA in Religion offers a more specialized focus on a particular area of religious studies, such as ethics, scripture, or comparative religion. It is tailored for those looking to delve deeply into scholarly research, teaching, or further academic pursuits in theology. While both programs equip students with a profound understanding of religious traditions and practices, the MDiv prepares students for active ministry roles, whereas the MA emphasizes academic research and analysis in the realm of religious studies.
