Dr. Hembree is an Assistant Professor at Dickerson-Green Theological Seminary and teaches in the area of Pastoral Theology, Care and Counseling. His  
scholarly research and interest examine the anthropological, psychological and theological dimensions found in traditional African religious thought and
culture, and the appropriateness of these resources for the field of pastoral care and counseling with the African American community. Specifically,
Dr. Hembree has developed a pastoral counseling method and practice for African American men, drawing upon the spiritual resources and teachings of the 
Yoruba people of Nigeria, West Africa. Dr. Hembree is the co-author of 
You are the Jewel in the Stone: A Narrative Resource for the Theological Exploration Vocation (2004). Dr. Hembree is a member of the American Academy of Religion, the Society for the Study of Black Religion, the American Psychological
Association, and has served as Co-Chair of the Society for Pastoral Theology.  In his leadership roles throughout is academic career, Dr. Hembree has also served on the following committees:

Currently, Dr. Hembree currently serves as pastor of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Greenville, SC.

Dr. Amenti Sujai is Associate Professor of Church History at the Dickerson-Green Theological Seminary. Prior to her teaching position at Allen, she was Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion and Associate Director of the Center for Vocational Reflection at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC., and has served as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Martin University in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Her research areas are in the following three areas: History of the Christian Church, Psychology of Religion, and Women in Religion.  Dr. Sujai serves as Mentor to DMin students, and has served on the following committees:

Currently, Dr. Sujai is the Senior Pastor of St. Matthew-Taylors United Methodist Church.  She is the author of Jewel in the Stone (2001), Dancin’ with the Beloved (2004) and co-author of You are the Jewel in the Stone: A Narrative Resource for the Theological Exploration of Vocation. (2004). Dr. Sujai is a member of the Society for the Study of Black Religion, and the American Psychological Association.  She is a spiritual guidance consultant, speaker, and writer. She conducts retreats on women’s religious and spiritual experiences.

Dr. Alonzo Johnson is an Associate Professor of Theology at Dickerson-Green Theological Seminary.  His teaching and research is in the area of systematic theology, pastoral theology and ethics.  He teaches Intro to Christian Theology, Systematic Theology I, Systematic Theology II, Christian Ethics and other related subjects.  His writing and scholarly interests include: Holiness-Pentecostalism, African American theology and folk traditions, the life and theology of Howard Thurman, American Christianity, African  and Afro-Caribbean Christian traditions.   He is the author of Good News for the Disinherited and co-editor of Aint Gonna Lay My Ligion Down. Dr. Johnson serves in leadership in the Church of God in Christ, he is the Pastor of Universal Outreach Church, Irmo, SC, and assistant to the bishop of SC, and he is the Chief Editor and Senior Contributing Author for the Standardized Ordination Curriculum  of the Church of God in Christ (November 2019).

Dr. McCauley, is currently the Chair of the Religion Department at Allen University.  He is the senior pastor of St. Matthew AME Church, in Hamer, SC.  Dr. McCauley has earned units of clinical pastoral education (CPE), from Palmetto Health, Columbia, SC., and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been a national board-certified chaplain, with the Association of Professional Chaplains (ACPE), since November, 2008.  Dr. McCauley, is currently pursuing a PhD in educational psychology at Capella University.

​Dr. Thompson  is currently an Assistant Professor of Sociology, Psychology, Religion & Human Services at Allen University in Columbia, SC. His work experiences have included diversity student recruitment, retention, mentoring and support at UC San Diego, Howard University & Benedict College.  Dr. Thompson is the senior pastor at Oak Grove Baptist Church of Elgin, SC. He is a local faith leader providing extensive pastoral care, coordinator of recovery groups, a liberation theologian and leading multicultural sociologist.

Dr. Sumpter is an adjunct professor of Christian Education and is a certified Christian educator.  She has served as an instructor at the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), as a professor at the University of South Carolina, and as an adjunct professor at Erskine Theological Seminary. Her theological instruction has been primarily in the areas of Christian Education and Church Growth and Evangelism. She has over 25 years of practical work experience as a Christian educator where she writes curricula and serves as a presenter and consultant to seminaries, congregations, and administrative ministerial bodies across denominational lines.  Dr. Sumpter currently serves as the Director of Christian Education for the Columbia Annual Conference of the AME church. She is an Itinerant Elder and a pastor in the AME church.​

Dr. Young currently serves as a Presiding Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina. Prior to his appointment as Presiding Elder, he pastored AME congregations in Charleston and Columbia. He also served for fifteen years as a professor at Columbia International University where he taught Urban Church Planting, Introduction to the Church and Biblical Preaching.

Dr. Bennett previously served as dean of the C.H. Mason Seminary (part of the International Theological Seminary) has published books, commentaries, and several articles on issues in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament studies and Ethics. 
He has presented papers on Africentric Biblical Hermeneutics during the annual meetings of the Society of Biblical Literature and served as the program chair for the section on Biblical theology in the International Society of Biblical Literature. Dr. Bennett has served as a co-coordinator of the Benjamin E. Mays Institute at Morehouse College and as a lecturer in the Black Women and Society Institute at the Interdenominational Theological Center.

Dr. Jamal-Dominique Hopkins joined the faculty of George W. Truett Theological Seminary as Associate Professor of Christian Scriptures in the fall of 2022. He previously was the Dean and Associate Professor of Biblical Languages and Literature at Allen University’s Dickerson-Green Theological Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina.  Dr. Hopkins holds a Pedagogy Fellowship with Yale University Center for Faith and Culture, where he is part of the Christ and Being Human Project focused on revitalizing Christian higher education.

Dr. Majors has been online teaching at Dickerson-Green Seminary since 2020. He also teaches online at Good News Seminary, in Tracy, California. He has taught at International Seminary, in Los Angeles, California, Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, in Rochester, New York,. and School of Urban Missions, in Oakland, California.  Dr. Majors planted New Beginnings Community Church, in Oakland, California, in 2002, and has served there as pastor for 21 years. He compiled a book titled, The Little Man with the Big Heart: Lectures from the late Dr. Manuel Scott, Sr, on the State of Evangelism in the Black Church. He is currently writing a book to be published in 2023 titled: Contributions Africans made in the Development of Christianity.

Ms. Tonie Geter holds a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University, Columbia, South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organization Management from Voorhees College, Denmark South Carolina.  She currently serves as an Administrative Assistant/Budget Manager for Dickerson Green Theological Seminary at Allen University.   She has also held other roles in her career through other companies such as, Human Resource Generalist, Senior Recruiter, and Employee Relations and Case Manager.
